Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena had a big season in 2025. Finishing the campaign with a .304 batting average, 17 home runs and 62 RBIs, Pena earned himself his first ever All-Star selection.

Now that baseball season is done and dusted, the Dominican has made a big decision pertaining to his personal life. In the midst of a getaway to St. Lucia alongside his girlfriend, Julia Grosso, Pena decided to stage a romantic proposal, popping the big question on one of the island nation’s picturesque beaches.

Julia Grosso posted a series of snaps of the big moment on Instagram shortly after.

“A lifetime with you.💍,” Julia Grosso posted.

Fellow big leaguers Julio Rodriguez, Luis Contreras, Cesar Salazar and Taylor Trammel left comments congratulating the happy couple.

Just like Jeremy Pena, Julia Grosso is also a professional athlete

Just like Jeremy Pena, who has played baseball pretty much all his life, Julia Grosso is also quite a talented athlete, playing professional soccer for the Chicago Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

Before joining the Stars, Grosso spent two and a half years with Italian giants Juventus. In the 2022-23 season, she was named in the Italian Serie A’s team of th season, also taking home the award for the best midfielder of the league.

Alongside her success at club level, Julia Grosso has also been one of the most important players of the Canadian women’s noccer team over the years. Making her debut for The Canucks in 2017, Grosso made the squad for both the 2019 and 2023 editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Arguably the biggest moment of her career so far, however, came in 2020, as she played a key role in helping her country win their first Olympic gold medal in women’s soccer.
