Breaking down Detroit Tigers’ high-risk 2025 MLB Draft picks

The Detroit Tigers begin the unofficial second half of the season looking to snap a four-game losing.
As a whole, it was a dream first 97 games of the season for the Tigers, as they not only are leading their division by 11½ games, but they hold the best record in baseball.
However, the Tigers did go into the All-Star break with a little bit of a sour taste in their mouth, dropping their series finale against the Tampa Bays Rays and then losing three straight blowouts to the Seattle Mariners.
As the Tigers look to right the ship after a little rest and recovery (at least for the six Tigers who didn’t go to Atlanta for the All-Star Game), they’ll head to Arlington, Texas for a matchup with the Texas Rangers.

The Tigers open their first post-All-Star break series against the Texas Rangers with an 8:05 p.m. first pitch on the road at Globe Life Field, which is indoors and protected from (boiling hot) weather.

On Sunday, the series finale will be televised on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” as Tarik Skubal faces fellow ace Nathan Eovaldi.
